At Popina Tents, our story begins on the banks of the Danube River in the small village of Popina, located in the Silistra region of Northern Bulgaria. Rich in history, Popina has existed since Roman times and was once an important stop along a Roman trade route. The name “Popina” comes from Latin and translates to “Inn” or “Roadside Shelter” – a place where travelers found rest, food, and safety along their journey.
Inspired by this ancient heritage of hospitality and connection with nature, Popina Tents was born with a mission: to create sustainable, beautifully crafted glamping tents and bamboo structures that offer modern comfort while keeping guests close to nature.
